Obnoxious social media– in a nutshell.

Personal Twitter

Feb-15-2010 By Nicole

As some of you all know, I have two twitters now. I have a personal one, and then my normal one. However, my personal one is private so I can learn to enjoy the smaller twitter account benefits like most people do. My obnoxiousacorn’s twitter account blew up with followers before I even realized what it was like to really tweet. So now, I enjoy the best of both words. One with Almost 16,000 followers, and another with me following 17 people and have 13 followers. :) I love them both!

Vid.ly (formerly twitvid.io), Twiddeo, and Twitvid are the most used Twitter Video sites. But what makes them different? Nothing, actually. Unless you count design. For me, I didn’t realized I used all three of them until I looked at one and realized videos were missing. So I searched my tweets and realized I had been using all three sites. I upload the videos from my phone to the sites, and since all of them are labeled Twitter Video, whats the difference? Exactly. There really isn’t any difference with the sites.
With all three, you get:

  • Upload video privelidges
  • Upload with webcam privelidges
  • Upload with phone privelidges

Vid.ly (formerly twitvid.io) : Vid.ly is the best site layout-wise and video quality wise.

Mmhmm, Vid.ly always say they love you. Why wouldn’t you like that?

Here are the list of videos you have created.

The lights on viewing a video.

The lights off veiwing a video.

Twiddeo : Twiddeo is the best if you want a fast video uploaded and don’t mind size or quality.

Twitvid : Twitvid is the happy medium between both Vid.ly and Twiddeo. It is the sister to Twitpic

Personally, I like Vid.ly because of the layouts and video quality. And I like the light setting. But picking one of these sites and not the other wont make you any worse or better of a person. :) And neither will having all three and not realizing it like I did. :)

Take advantage of Twitter’s applications. They will let you express yourself to others on Twitter. And it will give you a more interesting way to tweet.

Twiddeo

For instance, instead of just typing what you are doing, why not send a video of it with Twiddeo? With Twiddeo, you can upload a video, record it with your webcam, or send it with your cellphone. Twiddeo is the best application. Twiddeo has a nice public timeline where you can see everyone who has recently posted a video, even if you have not followed them. It’s a legit site and will not give out or sell your password when you log in with your Twitter identity.

TwitPic

So, now that you type and record your tweets, why not take a picture of what you are doing? Why not try the number one most used Twitter Pic application, Twitpic. With Twitpic, you can upload a photo from the web or from your phone. It has a public timeline where you can see others who have uploaded their photos to Twitter, and when you upload your own picture, you have the option to not have it appear on that timeline (although it is fun to). Twitpic is also a legit site. It will never give out or sell your password.

TwitterMail

If you were like me, for the longest time Twitter would not work with my phone. OR when Twitter is down, I could not text my status. But with Twittermail, you will be able to text Twitter no matter if your carrier is compatable with Twitter or not. Twittermail also has features to to schedual your tweets for the future, and when twitter is down, it will save your tweet until it is back up. Never lose a tweet again! I used Twittermail until I could use Twitter’s texting. But I still go back to Twittermail often. It’s just easier. Once again, Twittermail is a legit site. No fraud.

TwitSay

Lastly, wouldn’t you enjoy SPEAKING your tweets? This one is pretty awesome, and I have no idea why this has not become a big application yet (it’s fairly new). It is called Twitsay. Twitsay will have you put in your Twitter identity and your cellphone number. After that, you can call your cellphone at ANY time and leave a voicemail and Twitsay will upload it to their site and update your Twitter with it. This is my favorite application, and I feel tempted many times just to call and sing into it. (Also, when you are lonely, you now have the Twitterverse to talk to!) Twitsay, like the rest, is legit and wont give out your password or use it.
My cellphone has all of these, including Twitter’s text on it. It’s crazy to actually go through all applications just to write a simple text, but it is worth it when I can tweet using every form of media. Once they have a application where you can reach out of the computer screen through your cellphone, I will let you know!

And let’s not forget, we can be best friends on twitter. @obnoxiousacorns.
